Cacao Tour & Workshop
We invite you on a journey to discover the story behind Theobroma cacao, “Food of the Gods”
We are a family project located in Turrialba, Costa Rica. We bought our farm in 2016, and little by little we have transformed deforested pasture lands into a lush and tropical cacao forest.
Nortico Cacao Farm is a working farm, and the cultivation of Cacao Fino de Aroma is our prime activity. This is where we live, work and where our children play, making a visit to our farm both educational and enjoyable.

Reforestation, awareness of the importance of biodiversity and conservation of nature in general are all great efforts of combating climate change. So is Agroforestry – the sustainable combination of crops with trees! The cacao tree thrives among other plants and trees of different species, benefiting from the ecosystems including nutrients, water, air purification, soil formation and pollination.
Nortico Cacao Farm is established under the principles of agroforestry and some of the direct benefits we obtain from this system is:
At Nortico Cacao Farm we have managed to transform eroded land into a cacao plantation that increasingly resembles a secondary forest in only four years. We have combined the planting of cacao with banana plants, citrus trees and legumes among others, as it is very important for us to have a healthy and sustainable environment both for people and nature while producing fine cacao for our Premium Chocolates.
